Austin Dallman Killed in Skateboard Accident on 128th Street and Shea Boulevard
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (August 8, 2020) — An 18-year-old teen identified as Austin Dallman died after a skateboard accident on Thursday, August 6.
At about 12:09 a.m., Scottsdale Police Department officers rushed to a fatal car versus pedestrian crash at 128th Street and Shea Boulevard.
According to officials, the investigation revealed Dallman rode a skateboard west on Shea Boulevard in the roadway. Then a vehicle traveling the same direction struck him.
Police said he died at the scene because of injuries sustained in the incident. Reports said the driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Scottsdale Sgt. Benjamin Hoster said that speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash.
Officials closed Shea Boulevard from 124th to 130th street for investigators. It has since reopened.
The investigation is still underway. No other details were available.
