Woman Killed, Another Injured after Hit-and-Run on Decatur Boulevard Carmen Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 31, 2020) — A woman was killed after a hit-and-run on Decatur Boulevard in the central Las Vegas Valley around 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, July 30.
According to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Joe Lepore, the accident took place at North Decatur Boulevard and Carmen Boulevard.
Investigators believe that a 2004 Hyundai Elantra crossed the southbound lanes of Decatur. Then a silver 2006 Toyota 4-Runner slammed into the side of the Hyundai, Metro said in a statement.
The Hyundai’s driver, described only by police as the 43-year-old Las Vegas woman, died at the scene.
The Toyota’s driver fled from the scene before police arrived. Yet a 23-year-old passenger in the car remained at the crash site and cooperated with police. Medics rushed the passenger to University Medical Center with minor injuries.
The Clark County coroner’s office will release her identity after they notified her family.
Police urge the public to help them find the driver of the Toyota. Anyone with information can call Metro’s collision investigation section at 702-828-3595.
Sincere condolences to the loved ones and friends of the deceased victim. May she rest in peace.
