Motorcyclist Sean Murphy Dies in Accident on Guadalupe Road near 202 Freeway
MESA, AZ (July 26, 2020) – Authorities identified 34-year-old Sean Murphy as the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Guadalupe Road, Sunday evening.
According to the Mesa Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:30 PM. Witnesses claim that the motorcyclist popped a wheelie and sped through the red light approaching 202 Freeway overpass. Then, the motorcycle collided with an eastbound vehicle that had a green light.
Emergency crews pronounced Murphy dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
Investigators ruled out impairment as a factor in the fatal crash.
The Mesa Police Department Vehicular Crime Unit took over the investigation of the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
