Nevada Linebacker James Fotofili Suffers Fractured Skull after Hit-and-Run Accident [Sacramento, CA]

James Fotofili Seriously Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 28, 2020) — Nevada junior linebacker James Fotofili sustained serious injuries following a hit-and-run crash in Sacramento last week.
 
His teammates set up a GoFundMe page on Sunday morning, a week after a car struck Fotofili in his hometown, Sacramento. The page said that James went out of the vehicle to check on his baby boy in the back seat. The same man involved in a road rage drove by and struck Fotofili with his car and drove away.
 
According to a statement released by the Wolf Pack on Fotofili’s condition, James had a skull fracture as a result of the incident. He has been hospitalized in Sacramento and underwent a procedure to reduce swelling in his brain. His family said that the procedure went well and James is on his way to a full recovery.
 
Fotofili (6-foot-0, 220 pounds) played for Nevada in 2018 and 2019 at linebacker and appeared in 23 games over the two seasons. He recorded 20 tackles, three tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.
