Javier Barragan Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 39 [ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST, CA]

Rider Dies after Crashing into Pickup Truck on Highway 39 in Angeles National Forest

 
ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST, CA (July 26, 2020) – A man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday morning in the Angeles National Forest.
 
The crash happened around 7:22 a.m. on Highway 39 near mile marker 23.11.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle was speeding south on Highway 39. It then crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a Toyota Tacoma.
 
The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle.
 
A CHP officer patrolling Highway 39 came upon the crash and called for medical aid, officials said.
 
Responding paramedics pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
 
The coroner’s office identified the deceased as Javier Barragan, 25, of Los Angeles.
 
The driver of the pickup truck, a 38-year-old Van Nuys man, was not injured.
 
Crews closed the highway for about three hours and a Sig Alert was issued in the area.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. CHP officials are still investigating the incident.
