60-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at West 10th Street and Eigleberry Street [GILROY, CA]

Pedestrian Dies in Late Evening Hit-and-Run Crash on West 10th Street in Gilroy

 
GILROY, CA (July 25, 2020) – A 60-year-old man died in a hit-and-run crash late Saturday evening in Gilroy, according to authorities.
 
The crash happened around 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of West 10th Street and Eigleberry Street.
 
Police said an unknown model pickup truck was heading west on West 10th Street when it hit a male pedestrian. The driver fled the scene after the crash without rendering aid.
 
Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the pedestrian lying in the roadway with significant injuries.
 
The victim was flown to an area trauma center, but he did not survive.
 
Coroner’s officials did not release the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
