Missing Person Dies in Rollover Crash on Old Highway 395 in Deer Springs

 
DEER SPRINGS, CA (July 25, 2020) – A man was killed following a rollover crash Saturday afternoon in the Deer Springs area, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 4:36 p.m. at the Old Highway 395 off-ramp near the 15 Freeway, also known as Avocado Highway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, family members called regarding a missing person that they were trying to locate. Police were able to search for the location of the cell phone.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 2016 Mercedes-Benz that had overturned on its side down an embankment. The vehicle was below road level and out of sight from traffic.
 
The 77-year-old missing person was inside the car. Unfortunately, he was already deceased.
 
Authorities did not release the identity of the victim.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
