Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Harbor Freeway at Sixth Street [LOS ANGELES, CA]

Deadly Pedestrian Crash on Harbor Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 23, 2020) – A man in his 40s died in a pedestrian crash late Thursday evening in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. on northbound Harbor (110) Freeway, just south of Sixth Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was hit by a 2016 Toyota Prius. While lying on the roadway, several other vehicles also struck him. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The coroner’s office did not disclose the identity of the victim pending notification of his family members.
 
It was unknown if the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time he was struck. The driver of the Toyota was not under the influence, authorities said.
 
The driver of the Toyota was not arrested, but the fatal incident is still under investigation.
