Man Killed in High-Speed Crash at Grand Avenue and Buena Vista Avenue [POMONA, CA]

High-Speed Crash on Grand Avenue in Pomona Kills Driver and Injures Passenger

 
POMONA, CA (July 23, 2020) – A man was killed following a high-speed crash late Thursday evening in Pomona, police said.
 
The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Buena Vista Avenue.
 
According to the Pomona Police Department, a vehicle was speeding westbound on Grand Avenue when it lost control. It then crashed into a parked vehicle, went about 20 feet down the street and hit a light pole.
 
As a result, the male driver of the speeding car suffered grave injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Pomona Valley Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. His identity was not immediately available.
 
A female passenger sustained minor injuries and was also hospitalized.
 
No witnesses to the accident could be found, and it was unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
