Gilberto Camarena Fatally Struck in Perris Accident on 215 Freeway near D Street

 
PERRIS, CA (July 27, 2020) — Officials identified 23-year-old La Puente resident Gilberto Camarena as the man fatally struck by a car on Saturday, July 25.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 10:50 p.m. on the northbound side of the 215 Freeway near D Street.
 
CHP dispatcher received reports of a man stumbling around in the roadway. The caller said a pedestrian waved his hands and yelled at passing vehicles.
 
Riverside County Fire Department said a vehicle struck the pedestrian. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
It’s unclear why Camarena was in the roadway. There were no reports of arrests related to the crash.
