Diana Cruz-Perez Arrested in Fatal DUI Crash on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road [TEHACHAPI, CA]

71-Year-Old Man Dies in DUI Crash on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road near Highline Road

 
TEHACHAPI, CA (July 24, 2020) – A woman was arrested following a fatal DUI crash Friday morning in Tehachapi, CHP officials said.
 
The crash happened around 5:15 a.m. on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road, just south of Highline Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan Sentra was traveling south on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road when it crashed head-on with another Sentra.
 
The impact caused severe injuries on the other Sentra driver. First responders attempted saving him, but he died at the scene.
 
Authorities only identified the victim as a 71-year-old Tehachapi man.
 
The driver of the first Sentra, 30-year-old Diana Cruz-Perez of Los Angeles, was determined to have been driving under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested her on felony DUI and manslaughter charges.
 
The crash remains under investigation. Police asked anyone with further information to call the California Highway Patrol Mojave area office at 661-823-5500.
