KERN COUNTY, CA (July 23, 2020) – Minor injuries were sustained in a multi-car accident on Highway 223, Thursday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 2:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, several vehicles, including a semi-truck and a pick-up truck, collided along Highway 223 and Old River Road.
 
Minor injuries were reported in the collision. However, the total number of people injured in the crash remains undisclosed.
 
Officers temporarily closed westbound Highway 223 to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
CHP continues to determine the events that led to the collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
