Four Dead after Fiery Car Accident on Latrobe Road [Plymouth, CA]

Four Killed in Plymouth Car Crash on Latrobe Road near South Shingle Road

 
PLYMOUTH, CA (July 24, 2020) — The Amador County Sheriff’s Office said four people died in a fiery car accident on 22800 Latrobe Road on Thursday, July 23.
 
The solo-car accident occurred at around 2:15 p.m. on Latrobe Road, near South Shingle Road.
 
California Highway Patrol said the driver went over a double yellow line as they attempted to pass two cars. However, the vehicle went off the road and into a field where it immediately burst into flames.
 
Several agencies and personnel, including a life flight helicopter, rushed to the scene.
 
Personnel at the crash originally said there were three people dead in the vehicle which had caught fire. The CHP later discovered a fourth person deceased.
 
The identities of the deceased victims are still unknown, pending DNA analysis for identification, according to the sheriff’s office wrote. Their bodies were burned beyond recognition, reports said.
 
There were no reports of the reason behind the crash.
 
The car fire spread onto the field and caused a small grass fire. It was immediately contained.
