NORTH FORK, CA (July 23, 2020) – A pedestrian died following a hit-and-run crash early Thursday morning in Madera County.
 
The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on Road 224 at Grandmas Place.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, an unknown vehicle fatally struck the pedestrian. The involved motorist then fled the scene.
 
Authorities did not release the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
 
Crews closed the roadway and advised drivers to avoid the area while they documented the incident.
