One Dead, Three Injured after San Diego Four-Car Crash on Genesee Avenue and Marlesta Drive

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 23, 2020) — A four-car crash on Genesee Avenue in Clairemont left one person dead and three others injured on Tuesday, July 21.

According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the incidents took place at Genesee Avenue and Marlesta Drive just after 2:00 p.m.

One person died at the scene of the accident. Two people were trapped in the wreckage and one car rolled over onto its roof, the city agency stated. Medics took the surviving victims, one of whom has serious injuries, to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

San Diego police asked motorists to avoid the area if possible until further notice.

There are no reports on the reason behind the crash or how it transpired.

The identity of the deceased was not yet released. No other information was available.
