Mark Palacios Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Beach Boulevard [Stanton, CA]

Motorcyclist Mark Palacios Dies in Crash after Avoiding Jaywalking Pedestrian in Stanton

 
STANTON, CA (July 19, 2020) – Authorities identified 51-year-old Mark Palacios of Cerritos as the motorcyclist killed in an accident in Stanton, Sunday morning.
 
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 10:00 AM. A pedestrian crossed the northbound side of Beach Boulevard, causing oncoming vehicles to brake abruptly.
 
Palacios also attempted to avoid hitting the pedestrian with his motorcycle. However, his bike slammed into the rear of a vehicle near Katella Avenue.
 
Emergency crews pronounced Palacios dead at the scene. As per reports, the pedestrian left the scene without cooperating with investigators.
 
Sheriff’s officials continue to search for the pedestrian involved in the incident. Investigators described the pedestrian as a man with a thin build, black hair, and scruffy facial hair. In addition, officials believe that the man, who was last seen wearing a white shirt and black pants, was in his early 30s.
