Goma Pokharel Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Ashford Street [San Diego, CA]

67-Year-Old Goma Pokharel Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 19, 2020) – Authorities identified 67-year-old Goma Pokharel as the pedestrian fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in San Diego, Sunday evening.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened shortly after 8:00 PM. Pokharel was walking northbound on Ashford Street when she started crossing the street near a parked pickup. As she walked around the pickup, a northbound vehicle veered to the right, hitting the pickup and Pokharel.
 
The woman driving the suspect vehicle and her male passenger exited the vehicle and ran back to the injured pedestrian. Then, they returned to the vehicle and switched seats before the man drove off.
 
Emergency responders later pronounced Pokharel dead at the scene.
 
The victim’s family, who is behind Taste of Himalayas San Diego, is seeking help in locating the people involved in her death. Officers described the suspect vehicle as a dark Dodge Ram truck with dually tires and overhead cab lights. However, detailed descriptions of the suspects remain undisclosed.
