Andrew Arbuckle Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on La Paz Road

 
LAGUNA HILLS, CA (July 23, 2020) — Officials arrested Andrew Austin Arbuckle, 34, of Mission Viejo, after a deadly hit-and-run crash on Thursday, July 16.
 
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the crash took place at 25205 La Paz Road in Laguna Hills at about 9:15 p.m.
 
A pickup truck struck a pedestrian who was in the parking lot of The Hills Hotel. The driver, Arbuckle, fled the scene without helping the pedestrian.
 
Sheriff’s deputies and the Orange County Fire Authority rushed and transported the victim, a man in his 20s, to a local hospital. He died later that evening.
 
Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Reconstruction Team arrested Arbuckle on Saturday in Mission Viejo.
 
They booked him into the Orange County Jail on driving on a suspended license and suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death. They set his bail at $200,000.
