1 Killed, 1 Injured in Hit-and-Run on Stockdale Highway and Don Hart Drive [BAKERSFIELD, CA]

Woman Killed in Bakersfield Multi-Vehicle Crash

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 23, 2020) – One person died and another suffered injuries after a hit-and-run on Stockdale Highway and Don Hart Drive on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Bakersfield police said they were called to the scene at about 1:00 p.m. They found three cars involved in a collision when they arrived.
 
The officers said all three cars were westbound on Stockdale Highway. For reasons unknown, one of the cars drifted and then collided with the other two vehicles.
 
The impact launched one of the vehicles in the air. It eventually landed on top of another vehicle that was traveling in the eastbound lane.
 
The eastbound vehicle went across the center divider and then crashed. The female driver of the said vehicle died at the scene.
 
Minor injuries sustained by the driver of the vehicle that went airborne. Meantime, the driver who triggered the crash sped away from the scene.
 
The intersection of Stockdale Highway and Don Hart Drive was closed to both eastbound and westbound traffic. The area reopened at about 7:00 p.m.
