Steven Hill Hospitalized, Patrick Quillen Involved in Head-On Crash on 82 Freeway [Yakima, WA]
75-Year-Old Steven Hill Injured in Yakima Wrong-Way Crash
YAKIMA, WA (July 18, 2020) – A Yakima man sustained injuries in a head-on crash on 82 Freeway, Saturday evening.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened near North 1st Street, at about 6:20 PM. For reasons still under investigation, a northbound 2006 Nissan Frontier entered 82 Freeway heading the wrong way.
Then, the Nissan collided head-on with an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Silverado that was exiting to westbound Highway 12.
Emergency crews transported the Nissan driver, 75-year-old Steven Hill, to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital. As per reports, Hill remains in fair condition.
Meanwhile, the Chevrolet driver, identified as 58-year-old Patrick Quillen of Port Orchard, did not sustain injuries.
WSP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
