Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Redwood Road in Castro Valley

CASTRO VALLEY, CA (July 16, 2020) – One person was killed following a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon in Castro Valley, CHP officials said.

The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. on Redwood Road at Willow Park Golf Course.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle hit a curb and went airborne before crashing into a tree.

Responding paramedics tried saving the rider, but the victim died at the scene.

The coroner’s office did not release the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.

It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

CHP officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
