Man Standing Next to Parked Vehicle Fatally Struck by Motorist on 15 Freeway near Baseline Avenue
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (July 18, 2020) – A man died in a pedestrian crash late Saturday evening in Rancho Cucamonga.
The crash happened around 11:58 p.m. on 15 Freeway, just south of Baseline Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was standing next to his vehicle parked in the exit lane of Baseline Avenue when another car traveling to the exit struck him.
As a result, the victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was identified as Louie Gomez, 58, of Pomona.
It is unknown if the responsible motorist stayed or fled the scene.
CHP officials are still investigating the incident to determine the factors involved and liability.
