Child, Woman Killed in DUI Accident on Ramona Expressway [Perris, CA]

75-Year-Old Woman, 8-Year-Old Girl Die after DUI Accident on Ramona Expressway

 
PERRIS, CA (July 20, 2020) – A child and a woman died in a DUI accident on Ramona Expressway, Monday evening.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 10:00 PM. A Mercedes reportedly ran a red light and slammed into a Dodge Durango that was making a turn.
 
The impact of the crash caused the Dodge to struck a Honda Accord near Perris Boulevard.
 
Two people inside the Durango, identified as a 75-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl, were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victims, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, emergency crews transported at least one person to an area hospital with minor injuries.
 
Officers temporarily shut down the intersection for almost six hours to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the fatal crash. They ask witnesses to call sheriff’s Deputy Cail at (951) 210-1068 as soon as possible. Officials will release additional information once it becomes available.
