Spokane Pedestrian Accident near 25th Avenue and Southeast Boulevard

 
SPOKANE, WA (July 20, 2020) – A 65-year-old woman suffered critical injuries in a pedestrian accident in Spokane on Friday.
 
According to the police, a vehicle hit the pedestrian near 25th Ave and Southeast Boulevard. The woman was walking either on or near the sidewalk at the time of the collision, the officers said.
 
First responders transported the unidentified pedestrian to a hospital with critical injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene. There were no citations or arrests made in relation to the accident.
 
Meantime, the authorities had both directions of Southeast Boulevard closed from 25th Avenue to 27th Avenue while crews worked to clear the scene. The roadway reopened after two hours.
 
At this time, it was not clear whether drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the crash. The investigators are also looking into what triggered the collision, whether the pedestrian walked into the street or the vehicle went up onto the sidewalk.
