Santa Maria Man Dead, Annamarie Hanada Involved in Motorcycle Accident in Arroyo Grande
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (July 17, 2020) – A Santa Maria man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Los Berros Road, Friday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 3:00 PM. A westbound motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve and crossed a solid double-yellow line. Then, the motorcycle slammed into an eastbound Ford F-150 truck near Century Lane.
Emergency crews pronounced the motorcyclist, identified as a 31-year-old man, dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the Ford driver, identified as 35-year-old Annamarie Hanada of Nipomo, did not sustain injuries and cooperated with investigators.
CHP ruled out alcohol or drugs as factors in the fatal accident. Investigators encourage witnesses to call the CHP’s San Luis Obispo office at (805) 594-8700. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
