Major Injuries in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 near Big Lagoon

 
BIG LAGOON, CA (July 19, 2020) – Six people, including four children, sustained injuries in a car accident on Highway 101, Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:09 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a blue Titan and a silver SUV collided on the northbound lanes of the highway near Kane Road.
 
Emergency crews requested three ambulances to transport five victims to the hospital with moderate injuries.
 
As per reports, a helicopter was diverted from a motorcycle crash near Redcrest to respond to this incident. Then, the air ambulance transported one victim to a hospital with major injuries. Updates on the victim’s current condition remain undisclosed.
 
Officers temporarily shut down affected areas until 2:00 PM.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
