Kori Kolstad Killed in Rollover Crash on Highway 178 [WELDON, CA]

Woman Dies after SUV Overturns on Highway 178 near Paul’s Place Drive

 
WELDON, CA (July 15, 2020) – Authorities identified the woman who died in a rollover crash Wednesday afternoon in Weldon.
 
The crash happened around 3:00 p.m. on Highway 179, just east of Paul’s Place Drive.
 
Kori Marie Kolstad, 46, of Laguna Woods was driving a Ford Explorer eastbound at an unknown speed. She then lost control of the SUV and went onto the south shoulder of the roadway. She over-corrected, causing the vehicle to travel in a northerly direction across both lanes of traffic.
 
As the SUV traveled out of control onto the north shoulder, it eventually overturned.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Kolstad to Kern Medical Center, where succumbed to her injuries.
 
It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
