Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Minivan in Lacey

 
LACEY, WA (July 20, 2020 ) – A 68-year-old man was hospitalized following a pedestrian accident on College Street Tuesday night in Lacey.
 
The police said a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country minivan struck the pedestrian at about 10:45 p.m. The man was attempting to cross in the 5000 block of College Street Southeast at the time. The 31-year-old woman driving the minivan reportedly did not see the pedestrian and hit him.
 
The Lacey Police officers found the injured man lying on the sidewalk when they reached the scene. An ambulance subsequently transported the pedestrian to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, the man was still in the hospital’s intensive care unit, officials said.
 
Meanwhile, the minivan driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers. They said she did not show any signs of impairment.
 
Whether the driver will face charges is pending. The case is still under investigation.
