Woman Dead in Pedestrian Accident on Channel Islands Boulevard [Oxnard, CA]

Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Channel Islands Boulevard at South M Street

 
OXNARD, CA (July 17, 2020) — A woman was dead after a pedestrian accident on Channel Islands Boulevard at South M Street at around 1:52 a.m. Thursday, July 16.
 
According to officers, a 25-year-old man drove westbound on Channel Islands Boulevard. Then his vehicle struck the woman. Emergency medical personnel responded to give aid to the woman, but she died at the scene.
 
Reports only described the woman as about 30 years old. Sgt. Dale McAlpine said they were hoping someone might have information about the woman to help identify her.
 
The driver was not hurt and cooperated with police, authorities said. He was not cited, said McAlpine.
 
Police said traffic investigators are trying to find out the reason and the circumstances that led up to the incident. It was not determined if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash, police said.
 
Authorities closed the road until around 8:15 a.m. while police investigated.
