Woman Dead in Hit-and-Run on 15 Freeway [Hesperia, CA]

Woman Killed after Hesperia Hit-and-Run Crash on 15 Freeway near Bear Valley Road

 
HESPERIA, CA (July 17, 2020) — A woman was dead after a hit-and-run on 15 Freeway near Bear Valley Road at around 12:41 a.m. Thursday, July 16.
 
According to officials, for reasons still unknown, the driver of a black 2005 Ford Expedition moved at a high rate of speed. Then it crashed with the rear of a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The force of the crash caused the Pathfinder to leave the road and rollover. After that, the Pathfinder collided with a utility pole.
 
San Bernardino County Fire responded to the area. Then they pronounced the sole occupant, a 65-year-old Victorville woman dead at the scene.
 
CHP officials said the Ford Expedition drove away. Officers found the Ford Expedition abandoned a short time later. It was parked in front of the United Rental property on Mariposa Road near Bear Valley Road.
 
Other officers also responded to the scene to help look for the suspect who was unable to be found.
 
San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notification of loved ones.
