One Dead in Truck Crash on the Loop 202 at 40th Street in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (July 17, 2020) — One person was killed in a truck accident on the Loop 202 at 40th Street in Phoenix at 40th Street on Thursday, July 16.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the fatal crash that happened shortly before 1:15 p.m. on eastbound Loop 202.

According to DPS, a large truck was off the side of the road, just west of the gore point. Then a minivan struck it. One person inside van has died as a result of the incident.

The identity of the deceased person was not yet available.

Authorities are still determining the reason behind the crash. The eastbound lanes of the Loop 202 are still open while DPS investigated.

No other details were released.
