Jose Rodriguez-Gonzalez Dies after Two-Car Crash on Highway 180 in Sanger

 
SANGER, CA (July 15, 2020) – Authorities identified 32-year-old Jose Rodriguez-Gonzalez of Sanger as the man killed in a crash on Highway 180, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 10:00 PM. A northbound Honda Civic, driven by Rodriguez-Gonzalez, entered the intersection at Highway 180. Then, an eastbound Nissan pickup struck the driver’s side of the Honda near Academy Avenue.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Rodriguez-Gonzalez dead at the scene.
 
Medics transported the unidentified Nissan driver to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
 
Officers continue to investigate which one failed to stop at the traffic signal. In addition, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
 
Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
