Deadly Crash Involving Metrolink Train and Pedestrian on 10 Freeway in Baldwin Park
BALDWIN PARK, CA (July 16, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed in a train crash Thursday afternoon in Baldwin Park, authorities said.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on 10 Freeway, about 100 yards from Francisquito Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Metrolink train 312 from downtown Los Angeles to San Bernardino struck the pedestrian on the tracks. The victim was in a non-pedestrian area underneath the freeway.
The pedestrian, whose identity was not immediately available, was killed upon impact.
Coroner’s officials was summoned to the scene to pick up the victim’s remains and conduct a full report.
It unknown if the victim was walking or standing on the tracks when the crash occurred.
CHP officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
