One Killed in Two-Car Crash on Highway 41 near O Street [FRESNO, CA]

Fatal Two-Car Crash on Highway 41 in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (July 16, 2020) – One person died following a two-car crash Thursday afternoon in downtown Fresno, CHP officials said.
 
The crash happened around 1:10 p.m. on southbound Highway 41 near the O Street off-ramp.
 
According to the California Highway, a silver Ford Mustang and silver Prius collided for unknown reasons. The Prius then went off the road and hit a guard rail and a tree as it crashed down an embankment, where it landed on its side.
 
As a result, a male passenger inside the Prius suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
 
Another person sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
 
Crews close the O Street off-ramp to traffic. Drivers were advised to avoid the area as they continue to work on the site.
 
CHP officials have not yet determined the cause of the crash. Further investigation is underway.
