One Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 180 at Academy Avenue [SANGER, CA]

Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 180 in Sanger Kills One Driver

 
SANGER, CA (July 15, 2020) – One person died following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in Sanger, according to the California Highway Patrol.
 
The crash happened just after 10:00 p.m. on Highway 180 at Academy Avenue.
 
CHP officials said a Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Academy Avenue when it collided with a Nissan pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 180. One of the vehicles failed to stop at the traffic signal.
 
As a result, the driver of the Honda died at the scene. Officials said he hit the brakes prior to the crash.
 
The Nissan driver was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno. His condition was not immediately available.
 
The coroner’s office will release the identity of the deceased once family members are properly notified.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
