Lisa Sanford Killed in DUI Rollover Crash on Waller Road East [TACOMA, CA]

Passenger Dies after Car Overturns on Waller Road East in Tacoma

 
TACOMA, CA (July 14, 2020) – A woman died in a DUI rollover crash Tuesday night in Tacoma, according to Pierce County sheriff’s investigators.
 
A 2000 Volkswagen Passat was traveling at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a curve. It then slammed into a pile of rocks in the 4200 block of Waller Road East and overturned.
 
As a result, the female passenger of the car suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities identified her as 44-year-old Lisa Sanford.
 
The driver, a 55-year-old man, was taken to Tacoma General Hospital in serious condition.
 
Investigators said the driver was likely impaired and is expected to face criminal charges but has not yet been arrested, as he is still undergoing treatment.
 
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
