Jesus Vazquez Killed in Car Crash on Acoma Drive [PHOENIX, AZ]

Phoenix Crash with Motorhome on Acoma Drive Kills 1 and Injures 2

 
PHOENIX, AZ, (July 14, 2020) – A man was killed in a car crash Tuesday afternoon in a north Phoenix neighborhood.
 
According to Phoenix police, 22-year-old Jesus Vazquez was driving his Mitsubishi Eclipse at a high rate of speed on Acoma Drive near 30th Street. He then lost control of his car and crashed into a Winnebago motorhome.
 
Phoenix firefighters immediately responded and pronounced Vazquez dead at the scene.
 
A 22-year-old passenger in Eclipse was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the motorhome sustained minor injuries. Police said she showed no signs of impairment.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. A toxicology report is pending to determine if Vazquez was impaired at the time of the crash.
