19-Year-Old Efrain Martinez Seriously Injured in Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 99

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (July 13, 2020) – A man sustained injuries after his car collided with a semi-truck in Tulare County, early Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly after midnight. A silver Honda was eastbound on Highway 99 when, for unknown reasons, it went northbound through a fence and into the path of a semi-truck.
 
The impact of the crash pinned the driver, identified as 19-year-old Efrain Martinez of Fresno, inside the Honda.
 
An air ambulance transported Martinez to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with major injuries. Updates on his current condition remain undisclosed.
 
Meanwhile, it is unknown whether or not the semi-truck driver sustained injuries in the crash.
 
CHP ruled out alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
