6 Injured in 2 Separate Collisions on 405 Freeway [TUKWILA, WA]

2 Separate Crashes near Tukwila Hurts 6 People

 
TUKWILA, WA (July 15, 2020) – Six people suffered injuries in two separate collisions on 405 Freeway Tuesday morning near Tukwila.
 
The Washington State Patrol said the first incident occurred in the southbound lanes south of Exit 1. They received reports about the crash at about 7:10 a.m. When the troopers and emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles on their roof.
 
The southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway was blocked after the collision but have since reopened.
 
The second crash took place in the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway at Northeast 145th Street. The incident blocked all lanes, causing a six-mile backup in traffic. The roadway reopened following the initial investigation and cleanup of the scene.
 
Meanwhile, it was not immediately clear how the collisions happened. Both incidents remain under investigation.
