Edward Tofiga Lesa Dead, Three Hurt in San Diego Rollover Accident

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 16, 2020) – One person died and three others suffered injuries following a rollover accident on Highway 54 on Tuesday, July 14.
 
The County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 30-year-old National City resident Edward Tofiga Lesa.
 
Around 9:20 p.m., a Toyota pickup traveled westbound on Highway 54 just east of Reo Drive. Soon after, the truck rolled several times and all four occupants were thrown from the vehicle.
 
However, a man was thrown from the truck and hit by another vehicle. Police identified the man as Lesa. However, he died at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported the three other occupants of the Toyota pickup — all female — hospitals for treatment of various injuries. Their ages were not released.
 
The westbound lanes of Highway 54 closed for several hours after the crash.
