
Pedro Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, and Frank Sifuentes Die in Crash, Trapped Under Big Rig near Raisin City
Deadly Crash with Big Rig at Manning Avenue and Cornelia Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 14, 2020) – CHP says three people died in a crash at Manning Avenue and Cornelia Avenue in Fresno County.
The crash happened Tuesday around 11:15 p.m. east of Raisin City. CHP says the victims were in a 2007 PT Cruiser traveling north on Cornelia Avenue when the driver failed to stop at a 2-way stop at Manning Avenue.
A big rig traveling westbound on Manning and was in the intersection when the PT Cruiser broadsided it causing it to overturn.
The driver and three passengers became trapped under the big rig. As a result, two people died at the scene and a third died at the hospital.
The driver, 31-year-old Frank Sifuentes of Fresno, died in the crash. In addition, His passengers 34-year-old Pedro Gonzalez and 34-year-old Carlos Gonzalez, also of Fresno, died.
A woman in the car was taken to the hospital. However, her condition is not known at this time.
CHP says the big rig hauled animal carcasses at the time of the crash. As a result, they dumped onto the roadway after impact, completely blocking Manning Avenue.
It is unknown at this time whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
This incident is pending further investigation and any inquiries or information may be routed to the Fresno area CHP office.
