15-Year-Old Boy Injured in 82 Freeway Crash near Toppenish
TOPPENISH, WA (July 14, 2020) — A 15-year-old boy sustained injuries in a crash on 82 Freeway that also involved Salvador Munozgonzalez and Manuel Delgadillomonreal.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the boy was a passenger in a Hyundai Sonata driven by 19-year-old Delgadillomonreal. They were traveling westbound on the freeway when they rear-ended a Chevy Tahoe operated by 43-year-old Munozgonzalez.
The impact injured the juvenile passenger in the Sonata. First responders rushed him to Astria Sunnyside Hospital for treatment and further evaluation. The extent of his injuries was unknown.
Troopers cited Delgadillomonreal for following too closely.
Munozgonzalez, on the other hand, got out of the SUV following the collision and fled on foot. However, the troopers were able to apprehend him near the site of the crash. He will face a criminal hit-and-run charge, officials said.
