Three Men Dead in Crash with Big Rig at Manning and Cornelia Avenues

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 14, 2020) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the three men who died in a big rig crash on Tuesday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m. at Manning and Cornelia avenues.
 
According to police, a PT Cruiser with four people inside was traveling along Manning Avenue. It failed to stop at the intersection and crashed into a big rig carrying animal carcasses.
 
The impact killed the driver of the PT Cruiser and two of his three passengers.
 
Coroner’s officials identified the driver as Frank Sifuentes, 31, and two of his passengers as Pedro Gonzalez, 34, and Carlos Gonzalez, 34.
 
A fourth person inside the car suffered major injuries but responsive. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
The truck driver, a middle-aged man, was also hospitalized with major injuries, police said.
 
A large section of Manning Avenue was littered with the animal carcasses that were thrown onto the roadway. Several power lines were severed, and PG&E crews worked to shut off the power and replace a broken pole.
 
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
