50-Year-Old Man on Bicycle Seriously Injured after Accident on Van Ness Avenue

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 10, 2020) – A 50-year-old man sustained injuries in a bicycle accident on Van Ness Avenue, Friday evening.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened at about 9:30 PM. For reasons still under investigation, a car struck a bicyclist near Grove Street.

Emergency responders rushed the bicyclist to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities did not release the identity of the injured victim.

Meanwhile, the driver of the car, identified as a 26-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

No arrest was made and it is unknown whether or not charges will be filed. San Francisco police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
