Edward Lesa Killed in Rollover Crash on 54 Freeway [SAN DIEGO, CA]

Rollover Crash on 54 Freeway in San Diego Kills Driver and Injures 3 Passengers

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 14, 2020) – A man was killed in a rollover crash Tuesday evening in the unincorporated Bonita area in southern San Diego County.
 
The crash happened around 9:25 p.m. on westbound 54 Freeway near Reo Drive off-ramp.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota pickup truck carrying four people was traveling west when it lost control and overturned. The impact ejected all four occupants.
 
The male driver was then struck by another motorist. He suffered major injuries and died at the scene. Authorities identified him as Edward Tofiga Lesa, 30, of National City.
 
Paramedics took the other three occupants, all women, to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Crews closed all westbound lanes of the freeway near Reo Drive while they worked on the scene.
