39-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Foothill Boulevard near Cherry Avenue [FONTANA, CA]

Fontana Man Dies in Late Evening Pedestrian Crash on Foothill Boulevard

 
FONTANA, CA (July 13, 2020) – A 39-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash late Monday evening in Fontana, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 11:51 p.m. on Foothill Boulevard near Cherry Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1998 Honda Accord was traveling east on Foothill Boulevard toward Cherry Avenue. At the same time, a male pedestrian was walking along the roadway when he stepped into the traffic lanes.
 
The car was unable to stop in time and struck the man. The driver stopped and tried to render aid to the seriously injured pedestrian.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and rushed the man to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Authorities only identified the man as a Fontana resident. They did not release his name pending family notification.
 
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
 
Fontana police is investigating the incident.
