Woman and 2 Children Injured in Federal Way Crash
FEDERAL WAY, WA (July 15, 2020) – A woman in her 30s and two children suffered injuries in a reckless driving accident on Pacific Highway South.
According to the Federal Way police, the crash happened on Sunday afternoon past 1:00 p.m.
An initial investigation revealed that a 21-year-old man was driving recklessly in the 34400 block of Pacific Highway South. He ran a red light and subsequently T-boned the vehicle occupied by the woman and two kids.
The woman was in critical condition when transported to Harborview Medical Center. First responders also transported a 5-year-old and an 11-year-old girl to the hospital due to minor injuries.
The Major Accident Investigation Team conducted its investigation following the crash. They had Pacific Highway South closed in both directions between 16th Avenue South to South 348th Street while they processed the scene.
Meanwhile, the police said impairment was not a factor in the crash. They arrested and booked the suspect for vehicular assault. The investigation is ongoing.
