Teen Intentionally Hit by Car on Yakima Avenue [Tacoma, WA]

Man Wanted after Hitting Teen with Car on Yakima Avenue

 
TACOMA, WA (July 11, 2020) – A teen sustained injured after being hit by a car on Yakima Avenue early Saturday morning.
 
According to the Tacoma Police Department, the incident happened at about 1:30 AM. Three teens were walking down the street when a PT Cruiser pulled up beside them. Then, the driver exited the vehicle and accused the teens of beating up his brother.
 
The teens denied the claim, escalating the encounter to a fight. A short time later, the man returned to his vehicle, intentionally struck one of the teens, and fled the area.
 
Emergency responders transported the teen to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The police continue to look for the driver, described as a bald man between the age of 50 and 60. In addition, the man was last seen wearing purple clothing. Anyone with additional information about the driver should reach out to the Tacoma police as soon as possible.
 
Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
