Teen Airlifted after Crashing into Fence on Hawes Road [Mesa, AZ]

Teen Hurt after Car Car Crashed into Fence of Mesa Home on Hawes Road

 
MESA, AZ (July 14, 2020) — A teen was injured and airlifted to a hospital after a car crashed into a fence of a Mesa home on Monday, July 13.
 
The accident took place when a teen driver lost control of a car north of Hawes Road and McDowell Road.
 
According to the police, four kids between 14 and 15 years old were in the vehicle when it slammed into the gate. Investigators said the vehicle sped through Hawes Road when the driver lost control.
 
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said one teen suffered severe injuries. First responders evaluated and and released three other teens at the scene.
 
While it is early in the investigation, MCSO said it does not look like intoxication contributed to the crash. Investigators are trying to find out if speed played a role.
