Skateboarder Killed after National City Hit-and-Run on 5th Street

 
NATIONAL CITY, CA (July 13, 2020) – A skateboarder was struck and killed in a hit-and-run on 5th Street at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10.
 
According to the National City Police Department, the collision took place near the intersection of East Fifth Street and Palm Avenue.
 
Police said a man was skateboarding with friends when a vehicle traveling northbound struck him, police stated.
 
Medics rushed the victim to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment. He suffered severe brain damage from the incident.
 
Investigators looked at surveillance video from cameras in the area to see if they could identify the suspect’s vehicle, police said.
